Correctly regarded as the father of the 20th century Healing Movement, John Alexander Dowie ploughed a furrow of ministry which others in the Pentecostal revival, later took up in the early years of the twentieth century.
Dowie was the forerunner of the great Full Gospel movement that in half a century has gathered millions of adherents from all parts of the world. The sermons found within this volume are typical of the preaching of Dowie, and in a measure show the character of the man: bold, forceful, dynamic and absolutely fearless. At times his preaching is quite rugged, yet we have felt that if we were to
retain the true force and character of his preaching, the sermons should remain essentially as they were delivered.
We have of course deleted certain portions, either to avoid unnecessary repetition, or where because of the passage of time they have lost their significance. We have a conviction that these sermons will be a definite contribution to the literature available on the subject of faith and Divine Healing.
