This is the fifth of these massive tomes which contain the main teachings of Edward Irving, the first truly Pentecostal minister in the United Kingdom.
This particular volume of 566 pages is especially valuable as it records Irving’s revelation on the doctrine of the Incarnation, for which he was seriously criticised and accused of heresy. (Thankfully, he has been exonerated on this matter in more recent years).
In addition, there is a sizeable section on the church’s endowment of holiness and power and a closing section on the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
These are probably the earliest examples of systematic teaching on this subject that are available today.
